As I am reading your story Emily, I have the picture of Unbreakable with Samuel L Jackson in my head.
When you cursed, I saw him again in Pulp fiction.
I was expecting another instance of him in your story.
But no Glass were broken... But wait.. The light bulb 💡 downstairs! 😱
I have a colleague at work who is going from one health issue to another.
Just this week, he twisted his ankle. And boy, oh boy, I told him the same thing : You should slow down.
Yet he's in a position where he's very exposed and he is trying to chew more than he can swallow.
I have a rule at work (don't tell anybody) : the 80% cruise level capacity.
At work, I always try to get an amount of work that does not go beyond 80% of my capacity.
That is the only way for me to absorb many peaks of workload for a long period of time.
Often we are always cruising at max capacity because of side hustle, the love of money, fame or whatever fake metric we have.
We put our health and our mental health trying to play a finite game against an infinite player.
We should not work to rest. We must work FROM rest.
It seems like you need some time for you on a daily basis to Rest, Reset and Reflect.
There is no winning in the game of life. Either you drop because of no resources or your time is out.
We only have the Eternal Now. That should determine our priority.
Health is the ultimate wealth.
When you are healthy, you can think about one million tiny things.
When you are not healthy, you think about one thing and one thing only : getting your heath back.
There is no amount of material wealth that is worth loosing one once of health.
