Great Reminder Nanie. Parenting can be one of the most challenging responsibility as a human.
No need to put the pressure on your to try to be the "best parent". Even worse is trying to be a perfect parent.
As there is not and will never be a perfect human being, it is an unreasonable standard.
Being human is being imperfect. Being a parent is being human first.
As alezdy discussed, as a parent, I see myself as a Sheperd to my kids.
I don't want them to be like me. I just want them to find their way.
I will fail because I don't know everything. I will fail because I don't control everything. I will fail because they are humans like me with their needs and wants.
I will teach them critical thinking, agility and resilience.
I will not teach them to be strong. I will teach them to be antifragile.
That is the way of being a parent : guiding until they figure out their way.
