Thank you Sean for the reminder. One way to avoid the trap is also to take lateral promotions and not only vertical ones.

There is also the side effect of always wanting more while forgetting about the journey.

I know many VP (Vice President) and senior VPs who have hit their glass ceiling.

They are stuck up there like inflated helium balloons in a birthday party.
They are alone, divorced and everyone has left the party.

Many organizations are Pyramids and sometimes Ponzi schemes in disguise.

The company will give you more money. But you will pay a full price : no frzeson to be yourself, share your true thoughts and no more in charge of your time ⌚.
